This album is so good – I can’t even take it sometimes. Liza with a Z meets Detroit Soul. The charisma, and energy that Marvin puts forth on this record is astonishing. The orchestra is stellar, with names like Odell “The Professional” Brown, Bugsy “You Aint Gonna Worry Me” Wilcox and Al “Dancing Toes” Johnson. Below is a Medley of some classic Motown tracks that are featured on Side 2 of the two disc LP:
Ain’t That Peculiar>You’re A Wonderful One>Stubborn Kind Of Fellow>Pride & Joy>Little Darling (I Need You).I Heard It Through The Grapevine>Hitch Hike>You>Too Busy Thinking About My Baby>How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)
Marvin Gaye – Medley I (Live At The London Palladium 1977) (Zshare)

These other Marvin’s agree this album is a must-grab it here

This medley by Stars on 45 topped the charts for one week in the summer of 1981.

Apologies for the break in updates -> lots to talk about – so lets get to it.
Calvin Harris is back. He has a new disc in August and the lead single is pretty strong. Looks like Calvin’s time spent in the studio working with Kylie and Dizzie has paid off as the production sounds top notch. While the video is equipped with some hotties – a stereogum commenter noticed that the video uses similar effects used in the past – specifically The Chemical Brothers and Kylie Minogue.
regardless – Calvin is one to watch.
also worth a listen is his work on the track Holiday for Dizzie Rascal – a shift for Dizzie away from his “grimey” roots but the beat is what makes this track stand out.

Did you know that KEXP is now broadcasting in NYC on 91.5 WNYE? Get your ghetto blasters out next time your gonna play Frisbee in the park. Somehow this news escaped my RSS feeds as I saw a commercial on a rerun of NYC TV’s New York Noise. Free is FREE! Finally an alternative to the mundane crapola we often are subjected to on the FM Dial!
